The 10-minute pre-battle warmup formula
A 4-segment pre-battle script that turns a cold room into a winning room.
5 min read
The warmup is when you build the room. Skip it and you're battling solo — your opponent shows up with a packed house and you don't.
Here's the structure that works.
Segment 1: Greet by name (2 min)
Read the room. Call out 5–10 supporters by handle the moment they show up. Do not ask for gifts.
"I see Sarah, James, Mike — appreciate you all being here on a Saturday."
This activates regulars. They start commenting and inviting friends.
Segment 2: Frame the battle (3 min)
Explain who you're battling and why this matters. Specific > vague.
"We're going up against @bigmike_lifts in 7 minutes. I know that room. They show up. We need every one of you ready to comment, share, and bring one friend in. This is not asking for gifts — this is asking for energy."
Segment 3: Build the comment loop (3 min)
Run 2–3 prompts that drive comments:
- "Drop your city in the comments so I know who's here."
- "Tag one friend who'd vibe with this LIVE — pull them in."
- "First time here? Type NEW so I can welcome you in."
Segment 4: Final 90 seconds — set the bar (2 min)
"Battle starts in 90 seconds. Here's the deal: if we don't win, we still went 100. Stay through the whole thing. Tag your last friend. We go in 30."
The room is now hot. You walk in with momentum.
What to avoid
- "Please send gifts so we don't lose." Manipulative. Hurts long-term retention.
- Filler like "let's get this energy up." Be specific to today.
- Going more than 10 minutes — viewers fatigue.
